Teddies Cottage was formed 2006 after its founder, Rebecca Kenyon, considered a simple fact about the kind of toys that are being sold to children in high streets. Ms Kenyon found that the majority of children become bored with main stream toys very early as a result of the toy not being stimulating, fun to learn from and improve social interaction.
Ms Kenyon decided that she would draw on her experience of having three children with special needs to source toys that would be popular but also benefit the child by way of being educational and stimulate social skills. She successfully piloted a toy library for the local council and researched child development and social interaction skills.
Many of the toys you will find on this web site have been carefully selected to improve your child’s play time by providing a way of stimulating the learning aspect of their development and encourage the child to share their playtime with others. This reduces the chances of your child becoming bored with the toy early.
